WHAT IS DEPENDANT PASS?
Employment Pass holders are eligible to apply for a Dependant Pass for their spouses, children under 18 years of age, and legally adopted children under 18 years of age.
Eligible Family Members:
- Spouse
- Children under 18 years of age
- Legally adopted children under 18 years of age
- Parents / Parents-in-law (subject to approval)
BEFORE YOU APPLY
Principal holder must have a valid Employment Pass.
📋 Important Requirement
The Employment Pass holder (principal applicant) must maintain valid employment pass status throughout the duration of the dependant pass.
WHERE TO APPLY
Go to the ESD website, log in through the company’s ESD account and submit the application.

DURATION OF PASS
Duration of pass is based on the principal applicant (Employment Pass holder).
Note: If the passport validity of the dependant is less than the principal applicant, the duration will be based on the dependant’s passport validity.
WORK RIGHTS
Dependant Pass holders are NOT allowed to work in Malaysia.
